Heather has been kind enough to contribute a ride and run plan for those of you feeling less aggressive this weekend... her message continues below.
Heather writes:
The half asses have been a little slower to motivate than the regular asses because that's what we do... we go a little slower and do a little less. That's what makes us half asses. But seriously, we're also planning a double-workout weekend:
Saturday: 9am @ Sausalito Cyclery
Mini version of the Paradise Loop, about 20 miles. Clockwise.
Average speed about 12 or 13 mph. Breakfast sometimes follows.
Sunday: 10am @ Chrissy Field
We'll do a smaller part of the Escape From Alcatraz course. We'll be aiming for 3-5 miles with no sand stairs. And we will treat ourselves to breakfast at Baywatch.
No more excuses!
All are welcome,
Heather
Official half ass track starts in February... but there's no crime in
joining sooner!
Early in the season is the best time to really challenge yourself on hills - lots of slow climbs give your legs the strength they need to safely build endurance and speed in the coming months. As such, we've got some great workouts planned.
Saturday: 9am @ the Gravel Parking Lot
This week we're heading out to mill valley, up to 4 corners, across to highway 1 and back. Total distance, round trip is probably in the 35 mile range, but includes bigger hills than Paradise Loop. Thanks to Laurence for the great suggestion.
We also have Muir Woods Directions available. Just print 'n ride!
Sunday: 10am @ Chrissy Field
We'll do part of the Escape From Alcatraz course. This is a hilly out-and-back so you can do as many as 8 miles or as few as 3. And if there are enough people, we'll do a cheap breakfast at Baywatch on Lombard...
